Swedish or Relaxation Massage
Swedish massage is what most people think of when they use the term " massage." It is one of the most relaxing types of massage to receive as it works fluidly over the whole body. The general techniques are gliding and kneading, but tapping, vibrating, or shaking are often used on different muscles in the body depending on the desired result.
A Swedish massage therapist will target specific areas to clear out the "kinks" inside a full body treatment. To enhance the relaxing nature of the experience your session can include aromatherapy. The human body responds to pleasant aromas; the olfactory sense related to the nose, relays messages to the brain and signals the body to relax and be at peace. Slowly waving natural essential oils over the face improves breathing and can take one to "another place" as the olfactory sense directly connects with the limbic system in the brain- largely controlling memory, emotions and behavior.
